Elite Professional Rugby Union
Sam has extensive experience gained over 20 years working in an elite professional setting for numerous international rugby teams. Whilst having also supported the Senior Men’s medical teams of New Zealand, South Africa and Australia, Sam has predominantly worked with the England senior men’s rugby team and rugby sevens squads using her sport rehab expertise in mobility, soft tissue techniques and recovery modalities to provide uniquely tailored support to enhance elite tournament performance during World Cups, Six Nations and numerous overseas tours.

Elite Professional Tennis
Initially working with the elite pathway players at the UK Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) National Tennis Centre (NTC), Sam has used her sport rehabilitation expertise to enhance the athletic performance of a number of the UK’s foremost professional tennis players for almost 10 years. Sam has been integral to the medical teams of a number of elite players at some of the world’s premier tennis tournaments including Wimbledon, Queens and the Olympics as part of Team GB. Sam continues to be a core member of the GB Davis Cup medical department travelling with the team to support peak athletic performance during this most historic of international competitions.

Pilates
Sam initially trained with the Australian Pilates and physiotherapy institute and went on to lecture for them on their instructor courses. Private Practice
Sam is the director and founder or Arch Health and Fitness based in Kew, London. Arch Health and Fitness offers Sports Rehabilition, Physiotherapy, a multitude of movement classes and Personal Training. More information can be found via the website – www.archhealth.co.uk

Education
Sam graduated in 2000 from St. Mary’s University with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation. Sam has developed extensive practical experience focussed upon sport injury rehabilitation, Soft tissue therapy and Pilates over a 20 year career. With an established application in both private practice and the elite sporting environment, movement control, muscle activation and flexibility form the key aspects of her approach to successful injury management. She is a full practising member of BASRaT and the SMA. She has an extensive CPD profile and was awarded a distinction from Roehampton University for an MSc in biomechanics.

Lecturing
Sam has always valued the importance of strong academic foundations forged via her employment as a Senior Lecturer on the Sports Rehabilitation degree at St Mary’s University from 2002-2012.
Lecturing on undergraduate, postgraduate and Armed Forces degree programmes in sport rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and nutrition Sam was Module Convenor for numerous areas including:
- Sports Massage
- Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques (Fascial release, trigger points, MET)
- Specialised Treatment Techniques (Hydrotherapy)
- Therapeutic Management of Musculoskeletal Injuries (Fascia release, trigger points, MET, hydrotherapy, taping techniques)
- Business skills module.
Sam was also a key contributor to the Neurophysiology programme.
